Grasshopper CoolTemp Hydro‑Max™ Transmission Fluid (1 qt)

• Name / Type: CoolTemp Hydro-Max™ Extended-Life Hydrostatic Fluid

• Package Size: 1 quart (≈ 0.94 L)

• Purpose: This is the recommended hydrostatic transmission fluid for many Grasshopper mower drive systems.

• Performance / Benefits:

  • Formulated with high VI (viscosity index) base stocks, shear-stable polymers, and anti-wear additives. 

  • Tested by Grasshopper to provide optimal protection for transmission components, under a wide temperature range (hot and cold). 

  • Helps reduce operating temperature of the hydrostatic system (claims of lowering by up to ~15°F), which can extend the life of the transmission.

• Recommended Use / Application:

  • For use in Grasshopper hydrostatic drive transmissions (e.g., 300G4 / 300G5 Series)

  • Change interval is specified in maintenance guides; for example, front-mount models specify changing fluid and filter every 1,000 hours (or as recommended in your owner’s manual) using part #345044. 

  • For changing fluid: drain old fluid, replace filter, then refill with the proper amount of this fluid. 

• Compatibility / Notes:

  • The fluid is Grasshopper OEM — designed for their hydrostatic systems. 

  • Not all transmissions use the same fluid: for instance, some Grasshopper models use a different fluid (e.g., 345280) depending on the series. 

• Packaging / Alternative Sizes:

  • Besides the 1-quart version, there's also a 2-gallon container version of the same fluid (part #345046) for larger jobs or fleet use.
